Cherish the Child in You!
As a kid, during our summer vacations back home at my aunt & uncle’s place, we used to often play the game of “Blindfold” after dinner with everyone participating. It used to always be a great fun with lots of laughter ringing in our ears. As we grew up, I realized as childish it may sound, it was necessary to play that game to bring out the child in you.
We all miss being the little kid. The innocence, the mischief, the games, the fights, or you just go and look in the mirror. One of my favorite memory as a child was playing with my kitchen set and wearing mom’s dupatta as a sari or even role-play as a teacher.
Childhood was and will always be the best time of our lives. As a child anything was possible. You could be a superhero, you could be a millionaire, you could be and do anything you want. You don’t have to filter your dreams by salary, practicality or means. You can live carefree, fearless and with no notion of judgement. As we grow older, we tend to wither under peer pressure, competition, and expectations. The sunny dreams get shadowed by reality.
Do you miss being the little kid who could play, jump, sing out loud or dance in the rain?? Most of us do. They why not revive the child in you. This Children’s Day, let’s celebrate the long lost childhood. Let yourself go off the edge this 20th. This might sound impractical, but it would bring back the liveliness in your soul which you left under the folds of time.
I say why only on Children’s day, I try to revive the child in me every time I get the opportunity, like sitting on the swings in the park, dancing in the rain, splashing the water at the beach, eating and relishing on my favorite chocolates & ice cream and so much more!
Its as simple as saying “Dear Life, its been long…so just thought of saying a Hiii…”
Be Happy! Be Childish! 😊
